Pharmaceutical Stoppers & Dosing Inserts

Pharmaceutical stoppers and dosing inserts by Farmmash provide additional sealing and dispensing functions inside compatible bottle necks.

The current range includes four solutions for different packaging requirements:

• oral syringe adaptor 2.5;
• dosing and pouring insert 2.5B;
• sealing stopper 2.3;
• sealing stopper 2.1A.

Each component performs a specific function within the final packaging system.

Oral Syringe Adaptor 2.5

The 2.5 adaptor is designed to support withdrawal of liquid medicine from a bottle with a compatible oral dosing syringe.

The insert is positioned in the bottle neck and helps hold the syringe during product withdrawal.

As a result, the bottle, adaptor, closure and oral syringe can form one dosing system.

The adaptor can also be considered for compatible PP28 packaging configurations, including the Farmmash KP4-75 bottle/container.

Dosing and Pouring Insert 2.5B

The 2.5B insert is designed to support controlled pouring of liquid from the bottle.

Its geometry helps direct the liquid during use and reduce product remaining on the bottle neck after pouring.

Therefore, it can be useful for liquid products that are administered by pouring rather than by pump, dropper or syringe.

Sealing Stoppers 2.3 and 2.1A

Models 2.3 and 2.1A are intended for bottle sealing applications.

A sealing insert works together with the bottle neck and outer closure. Therefore, correct dimensions and component interaction are important for reliable performance.

The appropriate model should be selected according to the intended bottle configuration.

Complete Packaging System

An insert should not be evaluated separately from the bottle and closure.

Bottle-neck dimensions, sealing surfaces and closure geometry all affect final performance.

For dosing applications, the dispensing device must also be considered. For example, an oral syringe adaptor should be tested together with the intended syringe.

Compatibility Testing

Farmmash recommends testing the final component combination before serial production.

Testing can evaluate component fit, sealing, dispensing behaviour and ease of use with the actual product.
