Press-and-Turn Child-Resistant Screw Closure K28 CRC

Child-Resistant Closure K28 CRC by Farmmash is a screw closure for compatible PET bottles with a nominal Ø28 mm neck configuration.

The closure uses a press-and-turn opening mechanism. To open the package, the user must press the closure downward while turning it.

This operating principle makes conventional unscrewing more difficult for young children while retaining a reclosable screw system for adult users.

Press-and-Turn Opening Mechanism

The K28 CRC mechanism requires two coordinated actions:

• downward pressure on the closure;
• simultaneous rotation.

The closure mechanism engages only when both actions are performed together.

After use, the bottle can be closed again using the screw closure.

Tamper-Evident Function

K28 CRC also incorporates first-opening control.

The tamper-evident element provides a visible indication that the original package has been opened.

Child-resistant and tamper-evident functions serve different purposes and should be evaluated as part of the complete bottle-and-closure system.

PET Bottle Compatibility

K28 CRC is designed for compatible PET bottle configurations with a nominal Ø28 mm neck.

Nominal diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Thread geometry, neck dimensions, sealing surfaces and closure tolerances should be evaluated with the actual bottle before serial production.

Combination with P28 Pouring Insert

K28 CRC can be combined with the Farmmash P28 pouring insert in compatible packaging systems.

P28 is fitted into the bottle neck and helps direct liquid flow during pouring.

When the insert is used, the complete system should be tested as:

bottle + P28 insert + K28 CRC closure.

Applications

K28 CRC can be considered for compatible household, chemical and other liquid products where restricted access to the contents is required.

Final suitability depends on the product formulation, bottle design and required packaging performance.

Chemical compatibility should be evaluated with the actual formulation.

Child-Resistant Packaging Validation

A child-resistant closure alone does not automatically make the complete package child-resistant.

Where a formal child-resistant packaging claim is required, the complete bottle-and-closure configuration should be validated according to the applicable market requirements and test methods.

Compatibility Testing

Before serial production, Farmmash recommends evaluating:

• closure fit;
• thread engagement;
• press-and-turn opening function;
• first-opening control;
• sealing performance;
• reclosing function;
• compatibility with P28, if used;
• compatibility with the actual formulation;
• performance on the filling and capping line.
